It's a unique feeling, not quite like the Seamoth and in its own right exists only in the current iteration of Below Zero. In my new save file I have not built any vehicles (except for 2 Snowfoxes, both of which are permanently mounted on Hoverpads on Foundations in 2 different bases as "light fixtures") and this Speed set up not only works, but it's exhilerating and thrilling to master and can't compare it to anything in Subnautica. I've quickly and easily hammered in the muscle memory for this process, and I feel like a graceful elegant dolphin soaring through the water, leaping and bounding up into the air and spearing back down like a lance plunging back into the water not skipping a beat. Forward horizontal and vertical movement is all fluid and rapid. Two Air Bladders gives me an effective 200 meter vertical clearance to get back to the surface.Īnd again, this is all done QUICKLY. If I'm traveling down deeper I can use 2nd Booster Tank as just an O2 reserve or pull it out after 1st expires for additional speed. Not to breathe, but to "Refuel" the Booster Tank.ĭone properly without moving around during Air Bladder ascension the player can get enough air time to fully refill a Booster Tank and land back into the water ready to continue Boosting some more. If I'm just using normal horizontal traveling patterns, I will expend a single Booster Tank's O2 for the speed, and then pop an Air Bladder to quickly thrust up to the surface for air. No need to enter vehicles or access inventory or interact with anything. My "speed" set up is:Ĭombining Booster Tank use with Sea Glider use gives me on command speed and requires no equipping of gear or tools aside from Hotkeying the Glider. However I prefer the speed from normal Fins. Those tools chew through battery power, and in the circumstances you plan to use them, one could pull on Charge Fins. But using Charge Fins can be useful if you're using something like the Mineral Dector, or maybe the Propulsion Canon if you are using it to move props around to use as display outside your bases. This chamber contains an extensive amount of Large Resource Deposits, mostly Copper Ore, Diamond, Ruby, and Titanium.Yes, Charge Fins were placed into the game, not sure if they choose Charge Fins over the Ultra Glide or if there was another reason not to place them in. The tunnel to the right leads to the second chamber containing more Prawn Suit fragments and Prawn Suit Drill Arm fragments, a Data Box with a Headlamp blueprint. The first chamber contains multiple Prawn Suit fragments, a Laser Cutter fragment, a Data Box with a Scanner Room blueprint, and a Prawn Suit Jump Jet Upgrade in a terminal beside one of the work stations.ĭown the tunnel to the left is a small chamber with an Alien Statue. In the middle of the room there's a deep elevator shaft that leads to the rest of the facility.įollowing the rail system at the base of the shaft leads the player through some Hydrothermal Spires, where Thermal Plant fragments can be found, and towards the first chamber. The entry room contains a Data Box with a Moonpool blueprint and a Oxygen Plant. The mining site is a mixture of natural, rocky cave systems and man-made shafts mined out by Alterra. A Prawn Suit with a drill arm is recommended for optimal gains from this chamber. It can also be accessed from the Thermal Spires Caves, through the large cave system under Delta Island's dock which leads into a mineral-rich chamber, at the deepest point of the site. there's a small cave opening, located on the western side of Delta Island, in the Thermal Spires that leads to the other side of the door and it is big enough for the Seatruck to go through. Entering it through the top of the door is easiest. Seatruck access through the main door is hard, but doable. The mining site is accessible from the Thermal Spires on the western side of the island through a partially-opened main door at 150 meters of depth that is wide enough for a player or Prawn Suit. Players should remain wary of Oxygen and Lava Geysers if exploring without a Prawn Suit. Rooms beyond the main shaft contain multiple Rock Punchers. It is littered with technology left by the Alterra Corporation, most notably Prawn Suits and Thermal Plants, amongst others. ![]() Koppa Mining Site is an aquatic, cavernous biome located under the Delta Island.
